How we interact with the community is a reflection of our commitment to carrying Christ’s Good News to the world. Through our outreach we strive to BE the CHURCH in our community.
At St. Mark’s we host a Food Pantry the last Saturday of every month. Our neighbors are given pre-packed bags of toiletries and groceries generously provided by members of St. Mark’s and others. This ministry has grown over the years and is our defining outreach ministry at St. Mark’s.
Community outreach is also stressed with our youth. In honor of St. Nicholas new toys for children at the Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center are collected in Advent. We also give 10% of the proceeds of our Pumpkin Patch to EBC to support them in their work.
Our Prayer Shawl ministry meets twice a month to knit shawls for our sick and shut-ins as well as afghans for residents of EBC.
